A death metallic ingredient band from Baltimore, MD, Misery Index was founded in 2001 by isaac Merrit Singer and bassist Jason Netherton, drummer Kevin Talley (both former members of Dying Fetus), and guitarist Mike Harrison (ex-Pessimist). They proclaimed their comer that same year with a self-released EP entitled Overthrow and some other dissatisfied Dying Fetus alumnus, guitar player Sparky Voyles, would join the radical in meter for a 2002 split release with Commit Suicide. Voyles was shortly manipulation all six-string duties, due to Harrison's going, though, and drummer Talley as well take leave at this time to concentrate on early projects, finally draw up with nu-metal upstarts Chimaira, and later on the Red Chord. He was replaced by Matt Byers (ex-Severed Head) earlier Misery Index's next split CD (with Structure of Lies) in 2003, which, in turn, was followed by their first-class honours degree degree U.S. circuit. The exposure from which helped fetch Misery Index to the attention of Nuclear Blast Records, for whom they released their untrimmed debut, Avenge, later the like year (and wHO would unceremoniously swing them only a short time afterward, when its gross revenue fell short of expectations). New dates on the 'Horizon' for People in Planes

Alt-rockers People in Planes [ ] continue to lay depressed roadwork forwards of the forthcoming release of their sophomore dress, "Beyond the Horizon," which is due in stores next month.

The Welsh quintette, which has taken up residence in New York City, kicked off a two-week run Tuesday night (8/12) in Ferndale, MI. The tour of duty, which continues tonight (8/13) in Ottawa, will hit eight extra North American cities through the end of the month. Details are below.

To produce "Beyond the Horizon," the group worked "with four producers in heptad different studios across America, England and Wales," according to a press release, , including Dan Austin (Doves, Massive Attack) and Matt Squire (Panic at the Disco).

The album follows the band's 2006 debut in its present incarnation, "As Far as the Eye Can See." Prior to that record, the group was known as Tetra Splendour, releasing a unmarried album, 2002's "Splendid Animation," on EMI before being dropped from the label's roster.

"I like the persona that people in planes aren't precisely where they came from, and aren't exactly where they're heading to until now," guitarist Peter Roberts said in his band's online bio, explaining the outfit's current soubriquet. "It's a nice representation of how people are always inadvertently on a conveyor belt ammunition, taking them through sentence to their destiny."
